Shilajit, also known as mineral pitch or mumijo, is a rare blessing of nature that has been used by mankind for centuries. Here in the West, we have only recently been introduced to this mysterious tar-like substance, but people in the East have been aware of this herbal mineral compound and its benefits for at least a millennium. The oldest references to shilajit and its benefits can be found in Ayurvedic texts that are thousands of years old.

Ayurveda is a holistic healing tradition that originated in ancient India. It focuses on maintaining the delicate balance between mind, body and spirit to achieve overall well-being. Even today, shilajit is considered a sacred substance that is largely revered in mountainous regions of the world. The Himalayas, where the shilajit resin comes from.

Shilajit is truly precious. It takes millions of years and a complex balance of conditions (temperature and pressure) to form naturally. It is popularly called “mountain blood” because it is naturally formed from high mountain rocks (over 10,000 meters) during a small window of time in the summer. The extraction process is complex and the biomineral is collected by hand.

Raw shilajit naturally consists of a sticky tarry black-brown resin, which is naturally formed when environmental conditions are right. Shilajit extract is rich in over 85 different minerals and nutrients, all of which are easily absorbed into the bloodstream. Two of the most important active ingredients are fulvic acid and humic acid, both of which promote health and detoxify the body. Directions for use:
Start with a small amount of raw shilajit, about the size of a pea. As your body adjusts to the dosage, you can gradually increase it.

Mix raw shilajit with some warm milk or water. Avoid mixing with boiling liquids as this can destroy some of the beneficial components.

Consume raw shilajit first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach or before eating. This can promote better absorption and digestion of nutrients.
